Application Guidelines

Admission Requirements

To be considered for the Admission, you must be:

  1. A graduate and must have undergone your BSC/ equivalence programme of 3-5 years and ends with a Bachelors Degree and is seeking to go through his/her Masters (MSC).
  2. A Master Degree holder having undergone your MSC programme of 1-3 years and is equipped with a Masters Degree and is seeking to get his/her Doctors Thesis (PHD).
  3. Or a Graduate seeking to get a diploma in any of our respected professional courses.

Required Documents

The required documents include:

  • Secondary school result, eg WAEC, NECO etc
  • Birth Certificate
  • Degree Certificate
  • Referee Contact Information
  • NYSC Certificate

How To Apply (Method Of Application)

Uniport offers more than 100 graduate programs to choose from. You can find more information about the degree, program, specific admission requirements by visiting the Academics Page. It's important that you find a program that fits your own research and study interests by looking at the fields of specialization and/or concentrations of the program in which you are interested.

Throughout the online application, you will need to upload required documents for your program of choice. Scroll back to Required Documents on this page to get the complete list of documents. The most commonly required documents include:
  • Secondary school result, eg WAEC, NECO etc
  • Birth Certificate
A specific list of required documents will be available once an application has been started. Take time to prepare your documents prior to starting an application.

This is to inform the general public that the Sale of Application Forms for admission into the Graduate Programmes of the University of Port Harcourt in the 2022/2023 academic session will commence on Monday, February 27th, 2023. The cost of the Application Form and the Prospectus is Thirty Thousand Naira (N30, 000.00) only. The sale of Application Forms shall end on Invalid Date. Getting Started:
After you have decided on the program(s) to which you would like to apply, you will need to create a uniport sgs applicant account. This will be your specific Uniport account to which only you have access.
On the Uniport sgs website , click on New Application on the left side of the screen or click the Applications tab on the top menu.
Review instructions and details of what to expect as you move through the application. Note that program and deadline information is displayed at the top of each screen. You must click the acknowledgement at the bottom of the screen in order to complete this page. As you move through the online application, you will need to enter your personal details, your academic history, referee information, English language test score (if applicable), etc. It is not necessary to complete the online application in a single session. You may return to your partially completed application as many times as needed to complete and submit it. Documents that you do not submit within the online application must be uploaded prior to the specific program application deadline. When you access your application details in Uniport sgs website, you will be advised of all of the documents that are required for your particular program. Failure to upload the required documents as described may delay the processing of your application.

Program Selection: Select the program to which you are applying. Ensure you select the correct program, as some programs have similar names.

Terms of Application: Review entry dates. All terms in which applications are open will be displayed. Choose the term to which you are applying.

After you submit your online application you will be required to pay the non-refundable application fee of ₦30,000.00 (for both the Prospectus fee and Application fee). This fee is payable to Uniport sgs and can be paid by Remmita Online or Credit Card. Once your fee payment has been processed, you will be redirected to a Confirmation page which you will receive an email with further instructions and information on how to log in to Uniport Central. Once the application has been submitted and your application fee has been processed, it cannot be modified.

Note: Application fees for graduate programs will not be waived.


The sale and submission of completed Application Forms with all necessary enclosures will terminate on Invalid Date

Review Of Applications

After you have submitted your application, the application fee, and the required documents, the academic unit can begin to review your application. The time frame for processing applications can be different for each program, but should be around 3-6 weeks. Decisions may be made on a rolling basis and may be made after the application deadline. You can review the status of your application in Uniport sgs, or contact the Graduate Administrator in the appropriate academic unit.

Other Information

Uniport sgs is unable to process incomplete applications. It is your responsibility to ensure that your online application is submitted with payment and that all required documentation are received by uniport before the application deadline. All information, documents, and transcripts supplied during the application process becomes the property of Uniport school of graduate studies and will not be returned.
If evidence of misrepresentation or fraudulent or falsified documentation is found, the penalty is severe. Uniport sgs reserves the right to revoke any offer of admission. Uniport sgs may also disclose evidence of any misrepresentation or fraudulent or falsified documentation to all students in the university, to Citizenship and Immigration, and to law enforcement personnel where appropriate.

I write to inform you that the 2022/2023 admission for Graduate Programmes shall soon commence and the method of payment for Application Form is as follows:
Application Form fee of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15, 000.00) only should be paid on-line at any of the following Banks:
  1. U&C Microfinance Bank
  2. United Bank for Africa Plc
  3. Access Bank Plc
  4. Ecobank Nigeria Plc
  5. First Bank of Nigeria Plc and
  6. Sterling Bank.
It is mandatory that all candidates pay the sum of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000.00)only for Prospectus in U&C Microfinance Bank Ltd, Choba with Account Number 1100236739. Therefore, the SGS website for Graduate admission should be open to enable prospective candidates to access the Application Forms. Thank you.
